The public electronic service "Visa application" is a public service that allows the application for a Schengen visa and the Long-term visa to be completed electronically using an electronic application form developed for this purpose.
The use of the e-service enables the visa applicant to fill in the visa application form electronically, thus reducing the time for evaluating documents at the representation.
Electronic visa application form
In order to obtain a visa, a foreigner must apply to the representation office of the responsible Schengen Member State in whose territorial jurisdiction the foreigner’s legal residence is located. The territorial competence of the representation of the Republic of Latvia is determined by the Cabinet of Ministers Regulations No. 725 „Regulations Regarding the Territorial Competence of Diplomatic and Consular Representations of the Republic of Latvia for Requesting Visas“. Arranging visit at a representative office
In some diplomatic and consular representations of the Republic of Latvia, in order to submit documents for requesting a visa, it is possible to apply for the submission of documents in a timely manner. The possibility to apply for the submission of documents at the representation allows the visa applicant to plan his/her time when applying for a visa, as well as to inform the relevant representation about his/her wish to submit documents in a timely manner.
