The Office of Citizenship and Migration Affairs (hereinafter – the OCMA) has developed a convenient and functional electronic tool (hereinafter – the e-tool) for third-country nationals who legally reside in the territory of the Republic of Latvia. It enables users to quickly and easily obtain information about the process of applying for and receiving a Schengen short-stay visa and a national long-stay visa.

The visa e-tool is available on the OCMA website www.pmlp.gov.lv under the section “Visas and invitations” – “Visa issuance at OCMA.” It provides comprehensive information in one place about applying for a Schengen short-stay visa and a national long-stay visa, the submission process for required documents, payment conditions, visa issuance, as well as the amount of the state fee and payment procedures.

“The OCMA continues to improve digital solutions for its services to ensure that information is clear and easily accessible to every client. The new visa e-tool helps users become familiar with all requirements step by step, making the process more transparent and convenient,” emphasizes the Head of the OCMA, Maira Roze.

The e-tool was created to provide clients with a modern and user-friendly way to navigate the extensive information related to long-stay and short-stay visa applications. This information had already been available on the OCMA website; however, until now it had not been compiled in one convenient and easy-to-follow format. The e-tool is available in both Latvian and English: https://vizucelvedis.pmlp.gov.lv/.

The development of the visa e-tool was financed within the framework of the 2021–2027 programme of the Financial Support Instrument for Border Management and Visa Policy project “Use and Development of the National Visa Information System (NVIS).”
