The required amount of financial resources for employing foreigners in seasonal work, in accordance with Cabinet of Ministers Regulation No. 225, is as follows:
- If a foreigner wishes to obtain a visa and the right to employment – not less than the salary corresponding to the average monthly gross wage of employees in the relevant sector in the Republic of Latvia, according to the latest data published by the Central Statistical Bureau, or the minimum wage set by a sectoral general agreement.
- If the average salary in the sector of the foreigner’s intended employment is higher than the average monthly gross wage in the Republic of Latvia in the previous year, the required amount of financial resources for the foreigner must not be less than the average monthly gross wage in the Republic of Latvia in the previous year (EUR 1815);
- If a foreigner wishes to obtain a visa and the right to employment as a seasonal worker in agriculture (crop and livestock production, hunting and related support activities), forestry, and fisheries sectors – not less than the average gross wage of employees in the foreigner’s intended sector in the previous year:
- agriculture, hunting and related support activities – EUR 1516;
- forestry and logging – EUR 1933;
- fisheries – EUR 1990.
