In order to continue to stay in Latvia also after the Brexit, the nationals of the United Kingdom and their family members, who moved to Latvia until 31 December 2020, have to apply for receipt of a new residence document.
Certificates of registration or permanent residence issued to the nationals of the United Kingdom and their family members until 30 December 2020 in Latvia, as well as residence permits of the family member of the EU nationalwill be valid until expiry of the validity period specified therein, however, not longer than until 30 June of the current year.
Please, take into account that the deadline for application for a new residence card is 30 June 2021!
The provisions of the Immigration Law will further apply to those nationals of the United Kingdom and their family members, who would have not submitted the application for a residence card of the new standard by 30 June 2021, and they will not be able to use the rights attributed to the nationals of the Union and their family members.
