If a person has a declared place of residence in Latvia or an indicated place of residence abroad, the person may also specify one additional address in Latvia or abroad, or change information about the additional address in Latvia or abroad.
When indicating an additional address, it is also possible to specify the period during which the person will be reachable at that address.
An additional address can be indicated for oneself, for one’s minor child, or for a person under guardianship or trusteeship.
There is no state fee for indicating an additional address, and there is no need to provide a legal basis for registering an additional address.
For a person who is in a place of imprisonment or in a long-term medical institution, the relevant institution updates the additional address in the Population Register, indicating the institution as the person’s additional address.
An additional address is not a declared place of residence.
