STATISTICS ON REPATRIATION

In 2008, 325 personal files have been reviewed in the Repatriation Division of the Office of Citizenship and Migration Affairs. 100 repatriates and 27 family members, totally 127 individuals have moved to Latvia. The largest number of repatriates to Latvia was from Russia (54), as well as from Ukraine (19), the U.S.A. (11), and Belarus (10).

Will not be issued repeatedly anymore.

Number of granted benefits of material assistance (travel expenses, unemployment benefit or language courses): 482, for a total amount of LVL 56,277.74.

During the period from 1995 till 2008 (including December), 5,653 individuals have migrated to Latvia for permanent residence here, by repatriation.

In 2008, 127 individuals have returned to Latvia for their permanent residence here by repatriation. 92 repatriates have returned from the East and 35 – from the West.
