ISSUE OF A NEW PRIVATE VISA IN REPUBLIC OF LATVIA

The duration of stay for foreigner who legally resides in Latvia can be extended by issuing new visa of the same category only in the cases if a foreigner submits documents at the OCMA –at the regional offices or at the Foreigners Service Centre- verifying that the circumstances have changed since the receipt of the previous visa, and if the reception of new visa is:

• in accordance with international laws;
• in accordance with the state interests of Latvia;
• is justified by force majeure;
• is justified by humanitarian considerations.
  

Documents required for a visa application.

The decision on visa issuance is made upon evaluating the current situation as verified by the documents presented.

A foreigner submits the required documents for a new visa no later than three working days before the expiry of the previous visa.
