Traveling with children up to 15 years old they must possess their own passport.



From what years of age a child can obtain a passport?

A child can obtain a passport from a moment when his/her data have been recorded into the Population Register, which is accomplished during three days after the registration of a child at a registry office.

Necessary documents

The documents for the issue of a child’s (up to 15 years of age) passport must be submitted by one of the child’s parents.

To obtain a passport for a child, a parent must submit:
•    the old passport if it has been issued before;
•    certificate of birth, if a passport has not been issued before;
•    two photos for a passport (if a child still is not five years old). From five years of age a picture of the persons is taken in a division during a processing of a passport.

If a child is under five years old, at a division he/she can be once – by submitting the documents or by obtaining a passport.

Validity period of a child’s passport

Passport for the children up to five years of age are issued:
•    for a year;
•    for a travel period, if a travel is longer a year and a parent has requested to issue a passport with a longer period of validity.

For children from the five years of age a passport is issued for a five years.

Conditions and state fee for the issue of a child’s passport

The issue time of children passports is the same as for issue of adult passports:
At the will of the child’s parent a passport is issued:
within 20 days,
within 5 working days,
within 2 working days.
