Declaration of residence place

Of the 1st of January 2007 persons are able to declare their place of residence also by sending mail or e-mail to the Office of Citizenship and Migration Affairs (OCMA). It is still possible to declare the place of residence at the local authority! The information about the particular address of the local government institution can be found on the webpage of the local government, in the information services or www.lps.lv

In the Office of Citizenship and Migration Affairs the place of residence can be declared either by the declarant or by his or her legal representative (parents, guardian, etc.). A person who has been authorized in writing by the declarant of a place of residence can declare the place of residence only in the local authority.
